Large Victorian Hair Brooch.
Victorian mourning hair brooches were intricate pieces of jewelry made from the hair of deceased loved ones, serving as sentimental keepsakes. Popular during the rein of queen Victoria, these brooches symbolized remembrance and grief, often featuring intricate braided hair, designs, and gold accents.
This one is from the late 1800s so wear and tear is expected. It is missing its glass cover- which is why it’s priced at this. With the cover it could be $400 up.
The hairwork is still in perfect condition, and you can still see the art behind it all.
Approx 3inch. Plated Gold (we think).
