Here are a few of the questions we get most, plus our policies. International orders — scroll to the section below.

Always do a test patch on your skin before using a new product. If you're unsure of allergies, consult your clinician first. We follow strict cosmetic-industry and safety-compliance guidelines.


🌍 International Orders

We're shipping internationally again! One thing to know before you order: because of current tariffs and customs headaches, international packages can sometimes be delayed, returned, or lost — and once your order leaves our hands, it's out of our control. By placing an international order, you're agreeing that we can't offer refunds or returns if that happens.

We hate this as much as you do, but it's the reality for a small business right now. Order with love, and cross your fingers with us.


📦 Shipping & Orders

My order says "shipped" but has no scan

If you got a shipping email but don't see tracking updates yet, it just means we printed your label. We print labels in batches and hand-pack every order, so tracking usually updates within 1–3 business days. Our turnaround is under one week, and we ship Monday–Friday.

Where is my order?

If tracking says "Delivered" but you don't have it:

  • Postal carriers sometimes scan packages early
  • Most packages show up within 2–3 business days

About 90% of these cases resolve themselves — please allow a couple days. We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages. But we can help you with Hexes.

Broken or damaged items

If your item was damaged in transit, email us a photo. We will replace broken items. Always. We are cool like that.

Leaky bottle?

Temperature and pressure changes happen. (Sometimes the post plays football.) Send a photo and we'll replace it. Perfumes need to cry sometimes too.

Order mix-ups

We are human. Mistakes happen. Send us a photo of your packing slip and the incorrect item, and we'll fix it.

Can I change or cancel my order?

If your order hasn't shipped yet, we're happy to change or cancel it — just email us as soon as possible at seanceperfumes@gmail.com. We pack fast (usually within a few days), so please reach out quickly. Once an order has shipped, we can no longer make changes.

Returns & refunds

We do not offer returns or exchanges. For sanitation reasons, we legally cannot accept perfume back once it has left our shop. If something is wrong, please reach out — we are kind humans and will always do our best.


🖤 Perfume Questions

Oil vs. spray perfume

All perfumes need a carrier.

  • Eau de Parfum = fragrance oil + alcohol
  • Perfume oil = fragrance oil + carrier oil (rolled onto skin)

Perfume oils wear closer to the skin for a more intimate scent, smell slightly different on everyone, and can last just as long (or longer) depending on body chemistry. For the strongest staying power, layer oil + spray.

Why does it smell different on me?

Body chemistry. Perfume oils blend with your skin to create a slightly unique scent on each person.

How do I apply perfume oil?

Roll onto pulse points:

  • Wrists (this is the important one)
  • Back of neck
  • Behind ears
  • Forearms

Secret tip: apply to covered areas like your chest or stomach. Heat releases scent gradually and helps it last longer. Always patch test first. And please, do not ingest perfume. (Can you believe we even need to say that?)

How long does it last?

Everyone is different. Some people smell it all day; others reapply every few hours. We feel confident you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I can't smell my perfume anymore

Your brain adapts to familiar scents — it's called "olfactory fatigue." Others can usually still smell it.

Shelf life

Perfume oils: approx. 2 years recommended. Store away from heat, light, and air exposure.

Ingredients

Perfume oils: coconut oil, fragrance oils, essential oils
Sprays: organic perfumer's alcohol, fragrance oils, essential oils

Do you offer samples?

Yes — samples are the best way to explore Seance before committing to a full size. We offer several curated sample packs (best sellers, florals, our darker and stranger blends, and more), plus a "Choose 3" pack where you pick your own. Each sample is a generous 2ml — twice the size of a standard tester.

My scent is sold out — will it come back?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. We make everything in small batches, so scents can sell out fast. Many come back around — but some are retired for good and never return. When a scent is gone forever, it's truly gone. (That's part of the magic.) We don't currently offer back-in-stock alerts, so if something catches your eye, don't wait too long. Grab it while it's here.

We've got you. Every Seance order arrives gift-ready, and our invoices never show prices — so you can ship straight to someone you love without spoiling the surprise. Want to add a note? Leave it in the order notes at checkout and we'll tuck it into their package.
