Victorians and the centuries before them used the hand as a symbolism in every day life. Whether worn on brooches, necklaces and mourning jewelry, to the cravings on gravestones - you will see variations of each ; all of them individually filled with their own symbolism. Greeting cards were often hands holding flowers that signified different meanings for each botanical beauty. Clasping hands was a symbol of meeting your loved ones in the afterlife. And of course used by many as the marking of the “seer” or any psychic & medium in the day.
Hands are rich with so many meanings- and are one of the senses we use daily.
