This piece was designed by me! I once owned a Victorian mourning pendant that looked almost exact to this piece. I wanted to recreate it for Seance and bring back a beautiful relic of history. Forget Me Not- is a common saying in the Victorian Era and earlier.. when a person you love passed you would wear in a loved ones honor, or lovers would give each other pendants as a token of love and affection, you were to wear your necklace with their thought in your mind.
Mourning Jewelry doesn’t always have to be sad. Honoring someone who passed is a sacred love, and carrying a memory with us brings us a piece of that person every where!
SO wether this necklace is for you, or a gift to someone you love... be sure to hold it and put the thoughts, memories and love of that person into your pendant, so when you carry it around, you feel that presence when you hold your necklace . THIS NECKLACE COMES ON A LONG VELVET STRING FOR YOU TO BE ABLE TO ADJUST WHERE YOU WANT YOUR NECKLACE TO HANG
“Let us prepare our minds as if we’d come to the very end of life. Let us postpone nothing. Let us balance life’s books each day. … The one who puts the finishing touches on their life each day is never short of time.”
It is reminders like this one that we desperately need in our own lives—a thought or an idea that we’d rather ignore, do everything to avoid and pretend is not true. Most often, our ego runs away from anything that reminds us of the reality that sits at odds with the comfortable narrative we have build for ourselves. Or, we are simply petrified to look at life’s facts as they are. And there is one simple fact that most of us are utterly scared to meditate, reflect on and face head on: We are going to die. Everyone around us is going to die.
Such reminders and exercises take part of Memento Mori—the ancient practice of reflection on mortality.
