Bright, lush, indecently juicy, this scent feels like a still-life painting at the exact moment beauty begins to decay. Citrus, berries, black cherry, coconut, candy apple, soft florals, and amber gather together like too much pleasure on one table.

The Story
Vanitas was a style of symbolic art popular in the 16th and 17th centuries. These artworks, often still-life paintings, featured objects like skulls, extinguished candles, wilting flowers, hourglasses, and decaying fruit. The purpose was to remind viewers of the fleeting nature of life, the certainty of death, and the futility of earthly pleasures. Essentially, Memento Mori in visual form. Vanitas paintings encouraged spiritual reflection and the pursuit of virtue over vanity or materialism.

If you love fruity perfumes but still want something strange, elegant, and very Seance, Vanitas is your safest indulgence.
Pairs beautifully with Memento Mori for a darker rose-and-incense edge, or Decadence and Decay if you want the full “beautiful dessert table in a haunted mansion” experience. Also comes in a Spray, and a candle!
