Made for Every Body. Fragrance doesn’t care about your gender.

Absinthe is a ritual in a bottle- This is not a soft little wallflower perfume. It has bite. Anise, sugar, herbs, citrus, wormwood, and dark currant come together like the kind of drink that made poets dramatic and probably unbearable at dinner.

MADE BY A HAIRSTYLIST OF 20 YEARS
Two decades behind a salon chair taught me exactly what an oil should do: sink in, add shine, never turn greasy. This is what happens when a hairstylist makes a perfume: the product I always wanted that didn’t exist. Until now.

Notes: anise, sugar, juniper, spices, citrus, wormwood, black currant, herbs

What Is an Embalming Oil?

Despite the name, our Embalming Oil is for the living. It’s a concentrated, super-hydrating lotion oil for body, hair, and bath, made with nourishing oils and free of parabens, palm oil, and harsh chemicals. Unlike heavy creams that sit on the surface, it sinks in within minutes, leaving skin soft, scented, and suspiciously well-preserved.

Perfume Oil vs. Embalming Oil

Same fragrance, mixed from the same master batch. Different job.

Perfume Oil — 10ml roller. Concentrated scent for pulse points. Your everyday perfume.

Embalming Oil — 4oz dropper. That same scent in a hydrating oil for body and hair.

Wear either. Wear both. The embalming oil layered underneath makes the perfume last longer.

Want to smell it first? We don’t make Embalming Oil samples, but because both come from the same master batch, the perfume oil sample smells exactly like this one. Try it in a sample pack.

How to Use

A little goes a long way.
Hair oil / hair perfume: warm a small amount and smooth through mid-length to ends.
Body: start small and build. A few drops on damp skin, sinks in dry.
Bath: a capful under running water.
Pulse points: if you please.

The Story

One can drink the spirit as is, bitter and bracing. Of course, the preferred way is to combine the Absinthe with a sugar cube, diluted by the cool stream of an elaborately decorated water fountain. In this, and in seemingly all things, a little ritual makes life more palatable.

History & Ritual

Fun fact: we used vintage absinthe in each batch, making us one of the first perfume lines to do so.

Absinthe is rich with history, from famous authors drinking it to the legends, scandals, and theatrical little rituals that followed it everywhere.

To enjoy the spirit is to appreciate a method of preparation that spans centuries. First, Absinthe is poured. Then, a golden, slotted spoon spans the glass. A cube of sugar is laid atop the spoon. Cool, still water is poured over the cube, drop by drop, changing the liquid below. Indeed, we too are transformed for the better, and in so similar a manner: slowly, methodically, and often through the acts of simple ritual.

This scent wouldn’t be possible without the help of the one and only Adrienne Levy and Jade Liquors, true connoisseurs of the green hour.

Pairings

Made to pair with the matching Absinthe Perfume Oil. Wear the oil for scent, then layer this embalming oil on top to deepen it and make it last. Lovely through the ends of your hair, too.
