What Is an Embalming Oil?
Despite the name, our Embalming Oil is for the living. It’s a concentrated, super-hydrating lotion oil for body, hair, and bath, made with nourishing oils and free of parabens, palm oil, and harsh chemicals. Unlike heavy creams that sit on the surface, it sinks in within minutes, leaving skin soft, scented, and suspiciously well-preserved.
Perfume Oil vs. Embalming Oil
Same fragrance, mixed from the same master batch. Different job.
Perfume Oil — 10ml roller. Concentrated scent for pulse points. Your everyday perfume.
Embalming Oil — 4oz dropper. That same scent in a hydrating oil for body and hair.
Wear either. Wear both. The embalming oil layered underneath makes the perfume last longer.
Want to smell it first? We don’t make Embalming Oil samples, but because both come from the same master batch, the perfume oil sample smells exactly like this one. Try it in a sample pack.
How to Use
A little goes a long way.
Hair oil / hair perfume: warm a small amount and smooth through mid-length to ends.
Body: start small and build. A few drops on damp skin, sinks in dry.
Bath: a capful under running water.
Pulse points: if you please.
The Story
Inside this vial is something sweet and mysterious: combining cedar, saffron, and sandalwood with the boldness of cocoa. Made to pair with the matching The Witching Hour Perfume Oil. Wear the oil for scent, then layer this embalming oil on top to deepen it and make it last. Lovely through the ends of your hair, too.

Ingredients: Almond Oil, Avocado Oil, Sunflower Oil, Essential or Fragrance Oils.
For external use only. Always do a test patch before using a new product.

These oils are amazing. They really do moisturize and make your skin have a subtle glow. Besides the benefits, they smell amazing. This one is heavy on the chocolate, but it has a smokiness to it that then turns into a woodsy smell. Makes me think of a witch living in the woods waiting to entice Hansel and Gretel to come eat some sweets.

The Witching Hour is a great scent for the colder months. It's perfectly spicy, VERY woody, and has a bit of sweetness from the chocolate note. The formula is very nice on skin but I prefer it in my hair, as I find the scent lasts longer.

This smells like a combination of rich, dark chocolate and incense smoke. Quite lovely and perfect for October.
Witching hour, goodness this smell is fall eternal. The dark chocolate smell is beautiful, after a few minutes on the skin you get the leaves, and wood smell and it is softened with the oud. This scent took me back to halloween night as a child getting black and orange candy. Its an inviting crisp morning drinking coffee on the porch in a sweater kind of smell.
Absolutely decadent and lasts all day and pairs amazingly with replicas “by the fireplace.” Perfume.
This is a beautiful dark, smokey scent. I love that it isn't greasy and it leaves my skin buttery smooth. I'm absolutely obsessed with Seance now and I probably will never use regular perfumes ever again lol. I also really enjoy Seance's theme and what they are all about. They're just a really lovely brand with equally lovely products 🖤
