What Is an Embalming Oil?
Despite the name, our Embalming Oil is for the living. It’s a concentrated, super-hydrating lotion oil for body, hair, and bath—made with nourishing oils and free of parabens, palm oil, and harsh chemicals. Unlike heavy creams that sit on the surface, it sinks in within minutes, leaving skin soft, scented, and suspiciously well-preserved.
Perfume Oil vs. Embalming Oil
Same fragrance, mixed from the same master batch. Different job.
Perfume Oil — 10ml roller. Concentrated scent for pulse points. Your everyday perfume.
Embalming Oil — 4oz dropper. That same scent in a hydrating oil for body and hair.
Wear either. Wear both — the embalming oil layered underneath makes the perfume last longer.
Want to smell it first? We don’t make Embalming Oil samples, but because both come from the same master batch, the perfume oil sample smells exactly like this one. Try it in a sample pack.
How to Use
A little goes a long way.
Hair oil / hair perfume: warm a small amount and smooth through mid-length to ends.
Body: start small and build—a few drops on damp skin, sinks in dry.
Bath: a capful under running water.
Pulse points: if you please.
The Story
The wagon leaves the town square with coffins in tow. For the coach's rider, it is anything but a grim business. The road to the cemetery is pleasant and well-worn, and within minutes the smoke of the city's factories are replaced with the scents of cool air and wet moss. The rider knows he may never be invited to fanciful parties or lush parlors, but this moment is his alone to savor. There can be great pleasure in being misunderstood.

The Undertaking is very heavy on resins, so a little separation is natural. Just give your embalming oil a shake if you start to see it.

All sales are final. For sanitation and safety reasons we can’t take fragrance back once it has left our shop. If it arrives damaged or leaking, send a photo and we’ll replace it — always. Full policy here.
